Deployed Coast Guard member serving in Virginia, Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan. Yes there is actually Coast Guard members serving in Afghanistan. In fact, when I was at Bagram Air base I saw a poster for Orthodox services.

I am the wife of LTC John Penree, I became Orthodox 20 years ago when we married, he is currently serving his 5th tour overseas, attached to the 3 Infantry Brigade Combat Team deployed from Fort Drum, NY. We are praying for him and his team, he is a chief of a Stabilization Training Team. Prayers for their successful mission and safe return next year.
